Suitable for growing CBD plants in containers, indoor, greenhouse, or outdoor environments, with a focus on organic cultivation. It provides optimal oxygen exposure due to its excellent aeration.
The Classic blend is specifically designed for organic growing and incorporates organic nutrients. It has a higher cation exchange capacity (CEC), more active organic matter, and a balanced semi-slow release organic nutrient component compared to the Formula 1 mix. It also retains water for a longer period. The substrate pH is 6.5.
For the initial watering, clean water or a recommended dose of organic nutrients can be used, depending on the plant's needs. The soil should have sufficient nutrients for approximately 2-6 weeks before additional supplementation is required.
The ingredients include coco coir, worm castings, compost, perlite (10%), vermiculite, volcanic rock dust, bone meal, gypsum, fermented probiotic bran, and organic nutrients.
In terms of dimensions, the width is 70cm, height is 9cm, depth is 37cm, weight is 12kg, and volume is 30L.
The ideal pH range for watering Freedom Farms Craft Soils is between 5.5 and 6.0. Pure coconut coir naturally has a pH range of 5.8-6.8. To ensure optimal nutrient uptake, a substrate/soil pH of 5.5-6.5 is recommended for both organic and inorganic fertilizers.
Freedom Farms Coco coir is pre-buffered and enriched with natural amendments. The high calcium content in the amendments helps maintain the pH in the range of 6.5-6.8, preventing a decrease in pH caused by fertilizer application or low pH waterings. This buffering effect safeguards against pH reduction.
However, using tap water with a pH of 7-8.5 can incrementally increase the soil pH beyond the optimal range for nutrient uptake. The soil pH is not buffered against pH increases resulting from untreated tap water. Therefore, watering with a pH of 5.5-6.0 is recommended to ensure the soil pH remains within the optimal range of 5.5-6.5.
